Stage 1 – PLANNING
The process normally starts by discussing the design and layout of your new site. This may involve a number of phone calls and/or emails between us during this stage. If you’re still unsure as to what your new site should look like, we’ll help you by making suggestions based on your sites purpose and objectives, perhaps sending you graphical examples to look through.
You also need to decide on a name for your new site. This will involve the purchase of a Domain name.
If you already have a domain name then you will need to point/redirect it to your new site*.
*Domain names are a relatively inexpensive element of the project and we are happy for you to use your own domain name, but please be aware that on the ‘Go-Live’ date you will need to know where and how to edit your domain’s A-Record to point to your new site.
But don’t worry, we can do that for you (*as a one-off we would need access to your profile at your domain providers site)
Stage 2 – DESIGN DECISION
You then make a decision on the final design of your new site, prior to it being populated with your content – like the bricks and mortar of a new house before the furniture moves in!
Stage 3 – PAYMENT & BUILD
At this stage you make your first monthly installment (Standing Order or Adhoc Payment) for your chosen Service. Work can then begin on the structure of your site. If you have any content already assembled at this stage then you can email this to us for uploading and emplacement on the pages of your choosing.
We will at some point send you a link so you can view the site in it’s Draft form (part completed). Further tweaking can be performed before stage 4*.
*Depending on the complexity of the objects/content/set-up of your new site; we will give you an estimation of how long the project may take, this would normally be around 4 weeks. We want your new site to look it’s best.
Stage 4 – GO-LIVE DATE
Once you’re happy with the finished site, you set up your regular Standing Order for your chosen Service – your new site can then be made live on the web.
